Committee had investigated the possibility of laying six inch water pipe in Hunter Street between George and Elizabeth Streets but the difficulty of obtaining sufficient iron for piping made this impossible and instead the City Surveyor recommended using piping already purchased and laying it in Bligh and O'Connell Streets which would supply the Bent Street Fountain, Government Offices and residents. Appended: report of City Surveyor, Francis W.
