McLaren has contracted to lay in Pitt Street from Park to Hunter Streets. Committee endorsed recommendations of the City Surveyor, Francis W Sheilds, in his report (appended) that (1) nine inch pipe replace the three inch pipe in Park Street from Pitt to George Street in order to ensure that the supply of water to the new pipe in Pitt Street would not cause a loss of water supply to other parts of the City; (2) the lock taken up in Hyde Park be repaired and placed on the pipe; (3) the George Street pipe on either side be connected therewith and (4) a junction between Maclaren's pipe and that along King Street.
