Committee recommended that clearer arrangements be made with the Bank, but confirmed overdraft provisions still applied and that Council should authorise the Treasurer to draw on the 'police funds' for general purposes of the City. Appended are the City Treasurer's letter, copies of letters in 1843 from the Mayor, John Hosking, and the Town Clerk, to Manager, Charles Falconer, Bank of Australasia concerning the account and overdraft and from Charles Falconer confirming overdraft provision of £3000. Also appended is a letter of 5th April 1845 from Charles Falconer explaining cheques were not dishonoured but payment was postponed until the afternoon until he could himself speak with the Town Clerk and draw his attention to the state of the Account and seek approval for payment.LanguageEnglish (eng)Digitised recordNo
