In the foreground are two people fishing in Johnstons Bay. The apartment building on the left, at 2 Bowman Street, is known as Evolve. Evolve is within the wider Jacksons Landing residential and commercial property development on the northern tip of the Pyrmont peninsula. This 11 hectare area was previously used by the Colonial Sugar Refinery (CSR), and was bought by Lend Lease in the 1990s, who named it Jacksons Landing. The large cable-stayed concrete bridge in the background is the Anzac Bridge, which opened in 1995. It crosses over Johnstons Bay to Glebe Island, which is pictured at the right of the image. The Glebe Island Bridge, opened in 1903, is visible in front of, and below, the Anzac Bridge. It is listed on the New South Wales State Heritage Inventory as being one of the earliest examples of an electric-powered swing bridge in Australia. Although the bridge is still functional, the swinging section remains in the open position and is currently closed to the public. The rows of cars visible at the right of the image are on Glebe Island. Imported motor vehicles were unloaded here from White Bay until late 2008.
