Unique IDAS-0599Start date20th September 1888End date9th September 1889FormatVolume - HardcoverDescriptionThe volume in this series recorded the business of the Lighting Committee, concerned with street lighting within Macdonaltown Municipality. The Committee was responsible for the erection (as well as the repositioning and removal) of gas lights, and their hours of operation.

As with the City of Sydney Council, the actual work of laying the gas mains and erecting the gas lamps was carried out by the Australian Gas Light Company which was formed in 1836 and began lighting streets in 1841. Most of the Committee's time was therefore taken up with recommending sites for erection of new lamps in Macdonaldtown.

The volumes were handwritten and not indexed.
