South Sydney City Council Finance Committee

Unique IDAG-0232DescriptionAt its inaugural meeting on 3 January 1989, the South Sydney City Council established CA 232 SSCC Finance Committee, along with CA 229 SSCC Planning and Development Committee, CA 230 SSCC Community Services Committee and CA 231 SSCC Works Committee.

CA 232 SSCC Finance Committee's main responsibility was to oversee the finances of Council and to make recommendations in areas relevant to the collection and expenditure of Council revenue. Areas such as: budget management; applications for donations, subsidies and contributions; tender applications; legal services to Council; monitoring priority projects; union complaints/industrial actions; publicity; rental incomes for Council properties and disposal of properties.

The Finance Committee met on the first and third Wednesday of each month at the hour of 6:30 pm at the South Sydney Council Chambers, Erskinevile Road, Erskineville. The Committee comprised four members and three members constituted a quorum.
