Unique IDOR-0011DescriptionSouth Sydney Municipal Council was formed by excising the Northcott Ward of Sydney City Council and creating a separate municipality. In 1969 this Northcott Municipality was renamed South Sydney.
From 1 January 1982 the South Sydney area was reabsorbed into Sydney City. The boundaries of the South Sydney Municipality were : N - Cleveland Street; S - Gardeners Road; E - South Dowling Street/Southern Cross Drive; W - King Street/ Barwon Park Road (excluding part of Darlington in the NW).
