Unique IDAG-0137DescriptionThis agency is deemed to have been created on 1 January 1993, following the Council decision of 21 December 1992 to adopt the new management structure proposed by consultants Ernst & Young.

The new Council organisational structure was divided into five divisions, namely: CA 136, City Projects Division, CA 137, Urban Services Division, CA 135, City Planning and Building Division, CA 112, Cultural and Community Services, and CA 111, Corporate and Business Services.

CA 137, Urban Services Division is responsible for infrastructure maintenance services for the management of the City's parks, structures and lighting, roads and bridges; provision of cleaning service including street cleaning, domestic and trade refuse collection and disposal; carrying out Ordinance control in accordance with Council's statutory obligations; granting of business licenses and undertaking inspection; and conducting survey and engineering works.

The division was headed by Assistant General Manager Brian Porman, accountable to the General Manager.
