It was named after the last plan custodian who created the database. The database was most likely developed by the City Planning Department and provided to the City Archives in 1996, when the Archives took over care and custody of all building plans. Series controlled included CRS126 City Building Application Plans. Metadata fields included Series, Container, GRR Container, Item Number, Item Title, Year, and fields indicating if an item was Oversize, Rolled, Flat, Microfilmed, Digititized and/or Fragile. Whilst this data was largely replicated in the BOS database, the data from ALAN was transferred to the CAMPAS system due to its more frequent updating and greater reliability.
